A kitten tried to escape twice but changed once she moved indoors, discovering her new world.

When animal rescuers from Tails High found a tiny and vulnerable kitten from a cat colony, they didn’t hesitate to give her a fresh start.
The tuxedo had spent her first three months outdoors with little to no human contact. From the start, she was quite the escape artist. After she woke up from her spay, she maneuvered out of her carrier and took refuge in the undercarriage of a car.
Kate, a volunteer with the rescue, gently pulled her out, only to discover later that the kitten had retreated into yet another hiding spot.

“She found her way into the rafters of a rescuer’s garage. For three suspenseful days, she stayed hidden, keeping everyone on their toes until her ladder-perched hero brought her to safety,” Setareh, another volunteer, shared.
The kitten was named Mayhem after her daring Houdini acts. Shortly after, she moved into her foster home with Setareh.

Within a day, Mayhem came out of her shell in her quiet, cozy room, delighting her foster mom as she curiously explored every nook and cranny.
To everyone’s surprise, just 24 hours later, they received videos of Mayhem snuggling on Setareh’s lap, making biscuits.

Mayhem, it turned out, had always longed for affection. Her wariness faded once she realized people weren’t so bad. As soon as she mustered the courage to approach her foster mom, she leaned in for pets and curled up on her lap.
The kitten, who had everyone panicking earlier, now sought comfort from her human.
She turned into a love bugKate
When Mayhem discovered her love for cuddles, she started kneading everything she touched. She’d lie on top of her people and rest her paws on them, always staying connected somehow.
“Despite the dramatic start, she’s now blossomed into a confident, playful, and incredibly snuggly little girl who lives up to her name only in the best ways.”

“She has the sweetest personality ever. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle. If you sit down or lay down near her, she will run over and jump on your lap or chest, purring ridiculously loudly for such a small cat and making biscuits,” Kate told Love Meow.
Even in her sleep, Mayhem’s biscuit factory and purr motor just keep running.

“When she’s not cuddling with her people (which she could do all day), she’s a silly, playful kitten. She loves a mouse, a spring toy, and the resident cats in her foster home, whom she plays with non-stop.”
Feeling safe and loved, Mayhem wants to be part of everything happening in the house.

She joins her foster brothers on their adventures, always eager to jump in. Like a basketball player going for a dunk, she leaps with her paw outstretched, snatching the toy mid-air with a decisive grab.
“She is ready to bring her playful spirit, snuggles, and biscuit-baking talents to her forever home,” Setareh added.

Mayhem has blossomed into an affectionate love bug, fully embracing the comforts of indoor life. It’s hard to believe that less than two months ago, she wanted nothing to do with people.
A loving foster home changed everything for her.
