A kitten followed other cats to a home for food, and soon, his life transformed.

An orange kitten was spotted near a home, searching for food. It seemed he had followed community cats to their food source.
Skinny, sickly, and starving, he wolfed down the food as if he hadn’t eaten in days. Unsure where his next meal would come from, the lone kitten decided to stay, hoping for another chance to eat.
A concerned resident turned to the online community for help. Several animal rescuers sprang into action after seeing the post.

Isabelle, Linda, and Guylaine teamed up to secure the kitten. One of them transported him on a two-hour car ride to Montreal, where volunteers at Chatons Orphelins Montreal awaited his arrival.
“We took him into our care and named him Safran. He was very skinny, and you could feel every bone under his fur,” Celine of Chatons Orphelins Montreal shared.

A foster family stepped in, offering Safran a safe and comfortable place to start his healing journey.
He was treated for an eye infection, fever, and stomach troubles. Despite it all, he continued eating heartily, determined to get stronger. After a few days of nourishing meals and TLC, he began to fill out and regain strength.

Safran quickly settled into his new life as a pampered indoor cat, craving affection and love. He would melt into a puddle of purrs whenever he was wrapped in a soft blanket.
“He is gentle and purrs the moment you touch him but is still easily startled by sudden movements or noise.”

After plenty of cuddle sessions and reassurance, Safran became more confident and comfortable around the house.
He enjoys lounging on the couch with his human and feline friends, sitting beside them like the perfect companion. “He is gentle and calm. He loves cuddles and is a purr machine. He rolls on his back and nudges you for attention, and when he’s in your arms, he falls asleep purring.”

Safran has made a full recovery and is loving his newfound energy. He’s met other cats in the house and quickly befriended them all. He’s often seen following them around, joining their adventures, or napping by their side.
After weeks in foster care, he’s blossomed into a fluffy “lion” cat with a sweet, charming personality.

“He loves it when you take the time to play and cuddle with him every day. His favorite napping spot is a sunny perch on the cat tree. He has a big appetite, always finishing his plate and even sneaking bites from other cats’ bowls.”
He adores his feline friends, eagerly following them and mimicking their every move. He thrives in their company and craves their love.

Safran has come out of his shell since he arrived but can be a bit shy at times. He crouches down if he’s approached too quickly, but as soon as he’s cuddled, he transforms into a love bug, snuggling and purring.
“He’s discovered his own voice by imitating other cats in the house. Now, he meows when he is hungry or looking for his feline friends.”

“Safran was fortunate to have been rescued from the streets when he was a lonely kitten.”
Now, he basks in the sunlight by the window, nestled in his toy-filled bed, playing and wrestling until he drifts off to sleep.

It takes a village to save a cat. The once tiny, hungry kitten has flourished into a beautiful, fluffy feline companion, filling every room with his rumbling purrs.
