Soon after they brought a pregnant cat into their home, she had kittens in a room, ready for a new beginning.

About four weeks ago, a pregnant cat arrived at Best Friends Felines in need of a fresh start. She quickly warmed up to everyone, showing how grateful she was for the care she received.
“We have named her Brielle. She is the sweetest little lady with gorgeous blue eyes, stunning cream coloring, and a lovely loud purr,” Best Friends Felines shared.
Overjoyed to be in a foster home, Brielle snuggled up to her people, soaking up all the love. “She loves pats and cuddles, rolling on her back for tummy rubs.”

Feeling secure in her new space, Brielle started preparing for what was to come. “She decided enough was enough and very quietly went into labor in the corner of her room. A couple of hours later, five beautiful kittens were being washed and cared for by their doting mom, who took it all in stride.”
This is likely Brielle’s first litter, and it’ll be her last. Soon, she’ll enjoy being a cat again, doing what she loves after raising her kittens.

“We have two creams like mom, a little gray baby, and two stripey tabbies.” In two weeks, they nearly tripled in weight.
“(They’re) all jostling for the best position at mommy’s milk bar and then falling into a milk coma until the next feed. They are starting to wiggle around out of their area, keeping Brielle very busy trying to round them all up again.”

With their eyes opened, the kittens became more curious and active, though still finding their footing. Brielle cherished her kittens but also craved human affection. “She is very proud to show off her babies to any visitors we have to her room.”
She started taking more breaks from her kittens, cuddling beside her foster mom but always staying within arm’s reach in case her babies needed her.

At three weeks old, the kittens were growing by leaps and bounds, gaining confidence to venture outside their nest. They discovered their voices and weren’t shy about using them.
Whenever they were taken from their mom for a weigh-in, even for a few seconds, they’d cry out until they were quickly back by her side.

They playfully wrestled each other, rolling around and waving their tiny limbs in the air. As they learned to groom themselves and their siblings, their individual personalities began to shine.
“Tank (bigger tabby) is the loudest and pushiest. Wombat and Stormy (the two white babies) are the gentlest, and Lizzie (gray) and Zoe (smaller tabby) are just happy to eat, sleep, and cuddle in my lap when Brielle lets them.”

“Brielle continues to be the most amazing mom, gulping copious amounts of food before rushing back to feed, groom, and fuss over her brood.”
“When she does allow herself some time away from her kids, she is starting to show her playful side and loves chasing the wand toy and curly springs around the room. It is lovely to see as she is only so young herself.”

The kittens are thriving, with Tank leading the charge in all their adventures. “He has started playing in the kitty litter boxes. Brielle has had to come give him a nudge on occasion (to help him climb out).”
“Brielle is getting more time to herself, continuing to develop her playful side, and will now happily sit with me and cuddle and play while her babies explore their new world.”

“She is the most beautiful catâin looks and natureâand when the time comes for her to be ready for adoption, she will make the most amazing fur baby for some lucky family.”
